What Scarf Colors Go With Chocolate Brown, Plum and Black?
Chocolate brown, plum and black are deep, quiet colors. A bright scarf fights them. A scarf in muted, warm tones sits with them.
Look for colors that share their depth:
- Rust picks up the warmth in brown.
- Slate is a soft gray-blue that works beside black without looking harsh.
- Cream lifts the whole outfit so dark colors don't feel heavy.
Those three are the colors of my Rare Earth design. Worn with a chocolate brown coat, the rust connects to it. With plum, the slate and cream keep it from getting too dark. With black, the whole scarf becomes the point of the outfit.
A simple test: hold the scarf next to the clothes you wear most. If it looks like it belongs with at least three of them, it will get worn.
