Silk Chiffon vs Silk-Wool: What the Difference Feels Like
Silk chiffon is light. Almost nothing. It moves when you move, catches air, drapes with very little weight.
Silk-wool is heavier. About twice the weight of the chiffon. It has more structure and more warmth. You feel it on your shoulders.
Both carry the print well. The colors read differently on each fabric because the surfaces are different. Chiffon is sheer. Wool blend is more opaque. The same painting looks like two different things depending on which one you're holding.
Chiffon is a three-season scarf in most climates. Wool blend works in fall and winter and stays interesting in spring.
People who buy both usually tell me they reach for the wool when they want to feel dressed and the chiffon when they want to feel easy.
That's probably the most useful way I can describe it.
