How to Find a Scarf You Won't See on Everyone Else

The scarves in most stores are made in huge runs. The same print shows up on a lot of people.

To find something less common, look for three things:

  • An artist behind the design. A person, not a trend report.
  • Limited production. Small runs mean fewer people wearing the same piece.
  • A design with a story. If you can say where it came from, it becomes yours.

Every Teascarf Brooklyn design starts as an original artwork. I steep tea, arrange it on paper by hand and let it dry. Then I photograph the artwork, and that image is printed on silk. The original artwork is one of a kind, and each design is made in limited production.

So when someone asks where you got your scarf, you have an answer they won't expect: it started as tea on paper in a studio in Brooklyn.
