The tea bag goes down wet.

While it's wet, you can still move it. Adjust the placement. Shift the angle. Add more bags nearby or take some away. The composition is adjustable for as long as everything stays damp.

Then it starts to dry.

As it dries, the pigment moves outward from the center of each bag. It follows the texture of the paper. It pools where the surface is slightly lower. It fades where it runs thin.

You can't control exactly where it goes. You can only control where you put the bag in the first place.

When it's fully dry, you peel the bag away. What's underneath is the print. That's what goes on the scarf.

The drying takes at least two days. You can't rush it. Rushing it changes the print.
