Peacock Green Oversized Silk Chiffon Art Scarf

There's a version of a scarf that disappears into an outfit. And then there's the 52".

Our oversized art scarves are 52x52 inches — large enough to wear as a full wrap, a shawl, a head covering, or a statement shoulder piece. They're the format that Reed Slater designed first, the one that best carries the scale of the original tea-print artwork. When a print this detailed has room to breathe, you see it differently.

Two Fabrics at This Scale

The 52" scarf is available in two silk options, and the choice between them changes everything about how the scarf feels and when you reach for it:

  • 100% Silk Chiffon ($185) — Ultra-lightweight and sheer. Despite covering your full shoulders, it weighs almost nothing. The print appears luminous — color reads differently through chiffon than it does on opaque fabric. This is the warm-weather and year-round-layering option.
  • Silk-Wool Blend ($225) — 70% wool, 30% silk. Substantial, warm, and soft. The same print reads richer and more saturated on the wool side. This is the scarf you reach for in October and forget to put away in April.

Both are hand-finished with rolled edges. Both begin with the same original tea-print artwork.

How to Wear a 52" Art Scarf

The size is the point. Worn as a wrap over a coat, it replaces a layer. Draped over one shoulder, it reads like a statement piece without trying to be one. Folded into a long rectangle, it behaves like a classic oversized scarf. The silk chiffon version can be knotted loosely at the neck and worn open — it's light enough that it won't add bulk.

These are the pieces our customers tend to photograph and send back to us. The scale of the print, the way the silk moves — it photographs well because it's genuinely striking in person.
