Why Silk-Wool Is the Best Fabric for Winter
Share
Wool keeps you warm. Silk keeps things soft.
The blend does both. 70 percent wool means it has real weight and warmth. 30 percent silk means the surface is smooth, the drape is good, and it doesn't scratch the way a pure wool scarf sometimes does.
In winter you want something you'll actually wear. Not something beautiful that sits in a drawer because it's too precious or too irritating against your neck.
The silk-wool comes in both sizes — a 24" square at $89 and an oversized 52" at $225. The 52" is enough fabric to wrap once, twice, or drape over a coat without looking like you're trying too hard. Heavy enough to stay in place without being pinned.
The prints read differently on this fabric than on the chiffon. More saturated. Less translucent. More like a painting you're wrapped in.
Worth trying if you've only seen the chiffon versions.
