How to Wear a Scarf With a Coat
The problem with most scarves in cold weather is that the coat hides them. Here's how to keep yours in view.
- Over the coat. Drape the scarf over the shoulders of your coat, not under it. Tie the front ends loosely or let them hang.
- Outside the collar. Wrap the scarf once around your neck, on top of the coat collar, and let the ends fall over the front of the coat.
- Open coat, long scarf. Wear the coat open and hang the scarf straight down inside it. The pattern runs the full length of your body.
- Big wrap. On a cold day, open the scarf fully and wrap it around your shoulders over the coat, like a blanket.
Pick a scarf that contrasts with your coat. A deep teal like Peacock Green stands out against camel or gray. Rare Earth stands out against black or navy.
