How to Wash a Silk Scarf Without Ruining It
Cold water. Gentle soap. Hand wash only.
Don't wring it. Press the water out gently and lay it flat to dry. Keep it out of the dryer and away from direct heat.
Silk doesn't need to be washed often. If you've worn it and it doesn't smell, air it out and put it away. Most of the time that's enough.
When you do wash it, the color holds. The print is set into the fabric. Normal gentle washing won't affect it.
Store it folded or rolled loosely. Not compressed under other things. Silk breathes and it does better when it has a little room.
That's really all there is to it. Silk has a reputation for being difficult. It's not, as long as you keep it away from heat and rough handling.
